Back on track!

For the last very two months our team was having a small, but well-deserved break from racing. However, early days of September made us come back to the track and challenge the best.

Four days after the vacations another OLFSL round took place. This time the drivers had to tame Raceabout around a very technical Aston Club Rev. circuit. Qualifications went very well for our team, because msk, Makao and our new (old) driver, but will catch up with that later.
Gargi got into Pool 3, after qualifying with the mouse, but won without problems. Let's come back to the Pool 1 for a moment, because it's been quite a race there. Makao had a small tangle with GTS' Ady, in which msk almost got caught up. Fortunately he avoided the two, but a few laps later he ran out of luck. He had a contact with Belarusian Baris. Despite the collisions, both cars came home this race. Michał ended up in 5th spot, Marcin in 9th.

On the 10th of September IGTC hosted it's finale to the 2011 season. Sadly we buried our chances for retaining the title early on in the season. The track was very tricky to get right. Once again, it wasn't a walk in the park and we suffered a flash disconnect for the first (and last) time this season. Blady came back after an extended absence to drive the #01 car. This number will belong to Inex racing next year, who took the title, while we had to settle for sixth.

At the end of this news we are delighted to announce that we signed two very good drivers. We're certain that they will strenghten the team a lot, hopefully helping in achieving some titles in the future. We'd like to welcome Miłosz Garbolewski, aka AsnL, to the team, who represented Team Inferno and Lublin Racing Team in the past. We're reintroducing Piotr Goik to you, better known as ziomm, who rejoined the team. He showed the sample of his capabilities in OLFSL race by getting on a podium.

Patience - key to success in OLFSL

First round of the oldest active individual championships in LFS - Original LFS League which is now titled "No Frills, All Thrills" was held on 20th of march. Despite Olfsl being individual championships, they also had team standings there so naturally Conquest Racing was in for the "Thrill".

We knew from the beginning that this won't be so easy as it looks. First round took place on South City Town Course reverse using FO8 (450 bhp monster). We started our practice few days earlier so at the starting point we had 5 drivers: Foqs, makao, msk, Gargi and Guru. We made good progress in those few days and was able to bring good qualification and race setups. To add some spice into race, there was low wind for this 28 lap race. Enjoy our coverage.

Quliafications were very crucial as they decided in which pool and from what place everyone's going to start. That is important in such race as this, where there is so little space everywhere to overtake anyone. This part of the event was very fortunate for us, as we ended up in first 3 pools in pretty good places.

Pool 1
We are very proud that 3 of 5 Conquest Racing drivers took part in the best group of so prestigous league. Among the best drivers from whole Live For Speed comunity noone should say that he lost no matter what his result was. The race began without any problems. Nevertheless it's not surprising, because they are not random drivers. They proves their class lap after lap and range of the mistakes they do is almost invisible. At the grid Gargi and msk took 7th and 8th places. Both of them was able to keep good pace during the whole race and haven't dissapointed the rest of the team. At the beginning Gargi gained one position and kept it to the end. Msk hadn't that opportunity, his pace didn't let him to catch the driver infront of him and finnished the race with position he started. Definitely we put a lot of faith in Guru and he did his best again. He started the race from 3rd place, right behind the ex Cq driver: P. Goik (ziomm). Before the race everybody knew that the fight for the best polish driver in this league will be very close. The start went perfectly clean and smooth for the top drivers. Almost everyone on the track followed the driver infront of him like a shadow. Guru was able to keep 1 sec gap to ziomm for very long time. 3id driver made a mistake after 22 laps. At the last corner exit Piotr made a mistake. His rear tyres lost some grip what made him slide a bit. Guru knew it could be his only chance to pass him. At the main straight Adrian used slipstream to gain some more speed and decided to make a pass on the outside line in turn 1. The speed advantage let Guru do it very smoothly and without any contact. Adrian finnished the race on great 2nd position 13 seconds behind the another 3id driver, winner of this round: J. Lehikonen.

Pool 2
Second group was represented by those who were not so lucky in quali but still very fast. Makao was the only Cq member in this group starting in 2nd position. Marcin had a good start and was in control of the situation. He defended his position and bearly made out of small pile up. Kamo did a good job too avoiding spinning cars and was in a good situation for the rest of the race. All three leaders had a good close race. In the mid distance Makao started to improve his times and gainning on the first C. Vourliotis. On 10th lap the gap between those two was smaller than 1 sec. No more than 4 laps later Makao's team mates was ecstatic as he took the lead away from the Greek. Makao's opponent didn't stand the pressure and hit the wall slighlty. Makao took the lead and never gave it away. There was a small tragedy in the race as 8 laps before the finish Kamo's monitor went out and he was forced to retire from comfortable 3rd place while closing to 2nd. Better luck next time.

Pool 3
Foqs was the only Cq member in 3rd pool. It wasn't the fastest group but still very good. Łukasz started very well from pole position. He kept his position and started to enlarge the gap. Behind him starting from 10th place Marcin from ZION Team was climbing pretty fast to the top due to his opponents mistakes. Foqs pace wasn't fast enough to keep the gap and Marcin was able to overtake him. With 10 laps to go another rival showed up in Łukasz mirrors, it was Vincent de Sade. Fight for 2nd place was very exciting. After the slowest turn in 2nd sector Vincent went into the outside and tried to overtake. Foqs didn't see him and the worst happened. There was a contact and both of them didn't finish the race. What a pity!

Next round will be held on 3rd April. Drivers will have to race on Fern Bay Gold using XFR....

High curbs - unlucky for FZ5 GT Cup drivers

After last 4 rounds Gargi was leading in individual standings. Ziomm was 19 points behind and Blady was classified on 3rd. Right after first tests we were absolutely convinced that this round will be very interesting due to well fitting FZ5 GT car to the track configuration. Fern Bay Gold is notorious for very tight and slow first sector and very fast corners in remaining part of the track. Moreover there are many of the high curbs which can be found almost everywhere. Enjoy the full coverage of this round.

Qualification:
22 drivers took part in the qualification, where 4 of them were Conquest Racing drivers: Gargi, GuRu, Blady and Msk. After previous round most of them had to take some balast onboard, which made the qualification more difficult for us. Nevertheless we were able to achieve quite good result - Blady took third place, GuRu was 4th and Msk 6th. It turned out that the qualification was first serious practice sesion for Gargi, because he didn't have time before to do some laps on that combo. His best time allowed him to take 15th position on the grid.

Sprint Race
First race was very unlucky for us. Start of the race was very exciting and dramatic. Gargi starting from 15th was close to crash his car just after few meters, but he was able to handle the car and finally he lost one place. GuRu starting from 4th didn't have so much luck, before first turn he was trying to defend his position, but he ended up in a gravel and dropped to last. Blady and Msk get through first lap without any difficulties and were going on 4th and 5th. Unfortunately Blady didn't keep his place for long, he got off the track and was rammed by oncoming Kamo. Gargi kept good pace and gained 8 positions, but then suddenly his car rolled a few times before S/F line causing huge damage and forced him to pit. Both Cq Adrians after their mistakes were chasing the pack and GuRu finished 9th while Blady was able to claim 7th position. Gargi finished one lap behind the winner and Msk finished 3rd after clean and steady race.

Main Race
After some problems in the first race, expectations for the second one were much bigger and the race went much better for us. This time other drivers suffered some bad luck. Just after few laps, Msk had to withdraw from the race, due to flip, after contact with tyre in the first sector chicane. Gargi could't gain too many position and his pace allowed him to finish the race on 15th position. Race went much better for sprint race's bad luck drivers: Blady and GuRu. The first one, started from 2nd place and we didn't have to wait very long for him to attack the lider. After successfull maneuver he imposed very fast pace and his lead increased lap after lap. Second Adrian (GuRu) started from 9th position and after prudential driving and other drivers mistakes he was able to finish the pursiut on 3rd place.
Next race will be held in April on Kyoto National Rev....

Conquest Racing - IGTC 2010 Champions!

We are glad to announce that Conquest Racing has become IGTC Champions in our 2nd full season of this amazing championship. This was the most interesting season in history, because before final round 17 teams were able to win the title. Last round was double pointed, so top teams had to finish in front. Unfortunately our race had one critical moment, we caught timeout as always, Gargi's PC failed. It was game over in championship battle, we were one lap back with pitstop mismatch. We were going to finish and see what happens, but Makao found good strategy to reduce one lap gap with a bit of Safety Car luck. We did it and we were still in championship battle. Finally we finished on 7th what gave us 2nd position between Sonicrealms Racing and My3id Gaming. Race marshals decided to give +45s penalty for Starlite Racing which gave us 6th position and IGTC 2010 champions title. As you can see our whole season lack of luck was redressed with penalizing decision against Starlite Racing. Congratulations to all participating teams, it was pleasure to race against top LFS drivers, see you next season!

Unfortunately our IGTC 2010 movie is postponed, because Borsuk doesn't have enough time to finish it now, so please be patient to see his another amazing production.

Holidays... and win!

As you can see most of us are having holidays, but we aren't inactive. Last month we've finished LFS-Racing.pl league which we have won as a team and in individual standings. Top 5 consists of only Cq drivers with Adrian Tomczyk as a champion. Here you can find full results of LFS-Racing.pl.

We've also participated in IGTC. Last 2 rounds were held in July and Conquest Racing made the best results in history. Before 4th round Conquest Racing applied for 2nd car and we've got the spot. To celebrate this moment we've achieved a very good result on Westhill, Conquest Racing #1 finished 2nd and Conquest Racing #2 finished 6th. This improved our situation in overall standings very much. Msk was reporting this race from our point of view and you can find it on our Twitter.

Next round was held on Kyoto GP Rev, we were dreaming about similar result to previous round. And we did it, even better. Conquest Racing #1 won after exciting "eco-finish" and Conquest Racing #2 finished 3rd. This was our second win in international endurance league after "hard win" in GTAL. After my own unofficial calculations Cq #1 is leading the championship what makes us even more excited before next round which will be held next Saturday on South City Long Rev....

Another great run in LFS-Racing.pl!

The seventh round of the LFS-Racing.pl league was held last week on Kyoto National Rev. Six drivers were representing Conquest Racing in this race. Piotr Goik was able to make 4th time in qualification, but due to his penalty from previous round he was starting from 9th place. Unfortunately this had a huge effect in the race. Before first turn he had an accident which cost him lot of time and ended his chances of finishing in top 3. While Adrian Tomczyk was enlarging the gap, Jan Wiechowski, Adrian Suszynski and Michal Kowalski were fighting in first laps, Michal left Adrian and Jan behind and started his chase after Mateusz Daszkiewicz. After amazing run of both drivers Michal overtook Mateusz two laps before finish. Jan won 15 lap battle with Adrian and finished on 4th. Piotr after some contacts finished on 6th.

Driver's quotes:
Jan Wiechowski
"I was starting from 5th after a penalty for Piotr. I couldn't deal with Adrian for 15 laps who had the same pace as Michal and Mateusz. When I overtook him it was too late for thinking about podium. I finished 4th."

Mateusz Daszkiewicz
"Qualification went good for me, improving my lap time constantly what gave my 2nd position on the start with new personal best. Race start was smooth, after two laps I had quite comfortable gap over Michal, but in next laps my gap to Adrian was enlarging and Michal was getting closer. On lap 19 I made a mistake which costed me a position. But I am happy about the result."

Standings after round 7 of 8.

Busy weekend

Another great result for Conquest Racing. Yesterday Makao and Gargus participated in 6th round of Open Wheel Racing News, at Aston North with BMW Sauber F1 car. The race was 60 laps long, which is about 1h30m. Makao took 15th place in qualification, Gargus finished first part of qualification in top 10, so he could start in second part of qualification, where drivers have to use race setup and fuel for the race. Finally Gargi did low 1:28, which suplied him with sixth place at the start. Begining of the race was quite lucky for Gargus, because after few corners he avoided some contacts and he was able to get second place, after Garfild, who had Drive-Through penalty for falstart. Unfortunatelly Makao didn't have so lucky start, because he lost some positions, but step by step he was able to climb up. What was suprising, there was no posibility to drive the last chicane in the last sector with full throttle, because after 10 laps suspension was totally damaged, so drivers had to slown down a bit in that part of track to keep theirs suspension in good condition. Makao avoided his damage before his first pitstop, but on his second one, he had to repair his car, Gargus also had some demage in whole race, but it was driveable so he didn`t have to lose time in pits to repair that. After second, and his last pitstop Gargus left the pits on the second position and held it to the end of the race, Makao finally finished in 7th position. To sum up it was very nice race for our drivers and good experience with BF1 car. We hope to have more great races and results like this in the future.
One week ago we took part in 24 hour race. It was held on South City Long reversed and divided into two classes: STD and TBO. Conquest Racing drivers who were starting in this race decided to challenge in STD class with XRG car. It was very unlucky race, Blackman, Blady, Gargi, Guru, Kamo and Makao finished in 6th place. Here is small review made by me.

Makao also updated our forum, now it's multilanguage. Feel free to spam there....

We've mounted a comeback in ApexCup!

The fourth round of the Apex Cup was held yesterday on Westhill International. Drivers were using two LRF class cars: Raceabout and FZ50. Both Conquest Racing drivers were driving RAC. The qualification was very promising. After 30 minutes Marek Nasuciński was able to get the pole with amazing lap with 0.01 off the World Record. Jan Wiechowski managed second position with 0.3 gap to Marek. Sprint race went smoothly for Marek, he won without any problems. Jan Wiechowski finished 4th behind current championship leader Nolan Scott from ineX Racing and Kevin Leu from Concept Racing. Main race with reversed top 10 on the grid was very exciting on first meters. Nolan Scott crashed in second turn on first lap which ended his chances to finish in top. Marek and Jan was able to catch leaders. Marek finished 2nd behind Kevin Leu who was driving great race and Jan finished 5th. This round was very succesful for Conquest.

Driver's Quotes:
Marek Nasuciński
"I was surprised with my lap time in qualification. Sprint race went smoothly, I've won without any problems, enlarging gap regularly. In main race starting from 10th position was difficult, but I avoided the accident. Slight contact damaged my car a bit and I had problems on first turn. After all I finished second and I am glad with the result."

Jan Wiechowski
"I did my best in qualification and get 2nd position behind Marek. I had some problems with rear tyres and I lost 2 places in sprint race. In main race I made few mistakes which decided about result. Generally I am happy, but to be honest I counted on Cq one-two win."...

M. Daszkiewicz wins LFS Open Cup!

21 Cars rolled out of the garages of Blackwood to take to the track of the 15 minutes of frought qualifying. After the 15 minutes it was the Spdo car of Pikkarainen who produced a flawless lap to take pole from the Ministry of Speed car of Krzyzanowski. In the dying seconds of qualifying Daszkiewicz took second place from the Ministry of speed car with a do or die last lap.

At the start Pikkarainen dropped to third straight away with the XR2 car being slow of the line, with Daszkiewicz taking the lead that he would not relinquish throughout the race. Going into the first corner, Krzyzanowski placed his car up the inside of the slow Pikkarainen: only for Pikkarainen to keep his foot in on the outside and have the inside of Krzyzanowski for the second corner. As they went into the second corner, with Daszkiewicz already clear, Krzyzanowski and Pikkarainen made slight contact which resulted in Pikkarainen losing a place to de Jong and Krzyzanowski falling right down the field. Further back, Dakovic , who had made a good start from 7th made contact with Gasiunas which resulted in Dakovic spining wildly infront of the oncoming pack and was collected with heavy impact by Anttonen who pushed the 3id car of Dakovic into the oncoming Conquest car of Makalowski, ending all three racers' chances of finishing high up.

Meanwhile back up the front the Ministry of Speed car of Gasiunas started to challange spdo man Pikkarainen, who was still trying to recover from a back start from pole position, for thrid. However, coming onto the back straight Gasiunas ran slightly wide which allowed the also slowly starting Xcite car of Schwer to get alongside and up the inside going into the final sector of the first lap. De Jong, having started from the mid-field now set about closing the 1.87 second gap to Daszkeiwicz. During the next 5 laps, Daszkeiwicz increased his lead on My3id de Jong, the lead going out as far as 3.23 seconds.

But now de Jong launched his attack, setting fast laps and splits, lap after lap in an attempt to cut the gap down to the leading Daszkeiwicz. However, he was taking Pikkarainen with him and on lap 15 Pikkarainen got too close for comfort. He stuck the rear bumped of de Jong, forcing de Jong to drive slightly defensivly for a lap. This enabled Daszkiewicz to stretch his lead even further, and put the win beyong doubt. On lap 17, de Jong made excellent use of the backmarkers to be rid of Pikkarainen once and for all. This allowed de Jong to make a superb last gasp attempt to force the leader into making a mistake that may cause him to run with of even flip with the unique high curbs of Blackwood Raceway. De Jong reeled off a series of quick laps to cut Daszkiewicz's lead down to a mere 0.82 seconds going across the line. With Daszkiewicz the Jubilant winner. An excellent fight back from Krzyzanowski from nearly last place at the end of the first lap saw him cross the line in 8th place. Dakovic crossed the line with a damaged car with 14th place. Pikkarainen took fastest lap with a 1.11.13, with the XR2. Schwer finished 4th 9.67 seconds adrift from the leader with Tomczyk rounding off the top 5 with the second fastest time of the race, a 1.11.18. Impressivly the winners team mate, Makalowski after tangling with Dakovic on the first lap, and sustaining slight damage to the suspension, was able to claw his way back up to the top 10.

The top 3 showed excellent pace throughout the race, always pushing each other hard, but unfortunatly they were not quite close enough to challenge each other for the places. Congratulations to M. Daszkiewicz, the 2010 LFS Open Champion.Visit MinistryOfSpeed.eu for more details....

New arrivals at Conquest Racing!

Legendary BlackMan joined Conquest Racing. Former member of Cyber Racing, Muroc Racing and Team Inferno decided to join Polish Simracing team after his long adventure abroad. Also another great driver known as Gacek joined Conquest Racing. He made great appearance in IGTC and GTAL with Ministry of Speed and we had no doubt that he should join Cq. This is great addition to our lineup which means Conquest Racing is getting stronger and stronger. What is important now is that we are still national team. That was and still is our aim from the beginning. We believe they will help us a lot in IGTC which is our primary league now.

We have last round of Grand Touring Amateur League and we are looking forward to this 12 hours round and double points. Conquest Racing is also participating in LFS-Racing.pl, Polish LFS League and currently we are leading in individual and team standings. You can find more details on league website. Conquest Racing also joined new LFS League called Apex Cup so stay tuned and cross your fingers!...

Historical achievement in MoE!

The 2009/2010 season of Masters of Endurance is finished. Last round was held on Kyoto National where Conquest Racing competed in both classes. Our GT1 car driven by Blady, Guru and Dzban finished in 3rd place. This is actually our best result in history. Our GT2 car driven by Gargi, Foqs and Makao managed only 8th place, because we had some problems with engine. Unfortunately our bad luck in previous rounds costed us many points and we weren't able to achieve any top place in general classification.

After the end of 2009/2010 Masters of Endurance season we have focused on International GT Championship. The 2010 season has just begun. Blady, Makao and Ziomm finished on 9th place in 1st round which was held on Blackwood GP. This is a good result especially that we were around 25th place after 1st lap.

Finally I would like to announce that Tomek Nogiec, known as Imol joined Conquest Racing. We are glad to have him in our lineup after his amazing performance in Grand Touring Amateur League....

What we've been up to lately...

After 3 rounds out of 7, Conquest Racing is 5th in Grand Touring Amateur League, thanks to amazing performance at South City Long reversed.

Starting from the very back of the pack we were thinking about steady race, staying away from potential danger that would cause unnecessary time loss. After two safety car periods, Kamilo was around 13th and still charging. Imol advanced us well into top ten. In the end we took our first GTAL podium ever, following penalties and bad luck of other teams.

Next news: after 6 hours of racing around Aston Historic reversed, chosen by MoE contestants we took very respectable sixth in GT1 class. It was extremely close to even finish in 5th, but an amazing chase by Blady ended up with only two seconds dividing us and My3id car.

Yet another story: we took an amazing pole position into final round of DoP Tour 2010, but the series of disconnections killed all the joy, what forced us to retire....
